Anthony’s Independence !
Thank you very much for the stander, Anthony loved it. You really have no idea how much independence this has given Anthony. He is 5 and although he can't walk he loves to move around. The only way he could do that was by crawling but unfortunately that was starting to cause problems with his hips and legs. Now he will be able to independently move around and at the same time strengthen his body. Thanks again for all your time and help. Kathy
Keagan’s “Big-Girl” Chair:
Thank you so much for the chair you sent for Keagan. It works perfectly for her. She sits so well in it and loves being in her "big girl" chair at the table with us. I was telling another family about your organization, that you help with building special needs playgrounds. They said you guys helped them get their organization together. So I want to thank you for that, because they have been a blessing to our town. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing the chair for my daughter. It means so much to me. All my best, Nicole
Kate & “Clifford the Big Egg Dog” :
I just wanted to give you an update on how Clifford (our dog) is doing. We had Kate's 504 plan meeting (and) I sat with at least 6 other people to hash out a plan for Kate. They asked a ton of great questions and are going well above and beyond now to work with me. During the 3 hour meeting, Clifford sat quietly at my feet. Afterwards, the teacher and the preschool administrator set up a search of Kate's classroom and we put Clifford to work. In addition to all the things they planted, Clifford found an old stack of egg cartons in the back of a cupboard and a bin of birdseed! They are very impressed with Clifford and are anxious to make this work. Praise God!!! This summer has been an amazing summer! We worked on Kate's strength and endurance with frequent visits to Six Flags (it's a lot of walking). We had never ventured to Six Flags but Clifford definitely made that possible! I think one of his biggest finds this summer was at Centennial Park. We've been there many times on one particular day, I asked Kate to slow down and walk with Clifford. Almost immediately, he started pulling us away from our path and showed us that the field was COVERED in fresh eggs!!! There had to have been at least 2 dozen broken eggs in the field. I was horrified but it could have been far worse had Kate actually stepped on one with her sandals. She did have the start of an asthma attack but, removing her from the area cleared her up. We would have run straight into them had Clifford not alerted us to them. He is an awesome dog and he has saved us many, many times this summer!
We now have Clifford thanks to you and Helping from Heaven. Bless you for all you do! Many thanks, Ann
Cerina’s Joy:
After we cleaned and adjusted the chair for Cerina it has truly been a God send for us to use with her. As you can see from the picture Cerina really enjoys the chair. It really helps with her therapy as well as helping us play with her using her toys. She can sit at the table with us when we eat and she can watch TV with us while being in a sitting position. Thanks again for all your help and God bless you all.
LEXI’S BIRTHDAY BASH Open Letter from Kristy:
Dear Friends and Volunteers,
Words cannot express my gratitude for your help in making this year’s annual birthday party for children with special needs the very best party we have had to date! We had about 50 families and almost 200 people! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to work at and/or donate to this party. What child could ask for a better birthday party? Music, dancing, games, a clown that does magic, balloons, goody bags and face painting…it was everything a child could want and then some! You are all my dream team!
For a mother who has to send balloons to Heaven to celebrate her daughter’s birthday, it is heartwarming to know that people like you all are willing to commit to make this world a better place for those who are less fortunate. I believe whole heartedly that giving back to the community is how we make it a better, happier and more peaceful place to live. Parents tell me that their children look forward to this party all year long; some even more than Christmas!
These families cherish the opportunity to have family events like this one. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! I would be honored to have you all back again next year for 2011’s Annual Birthday Bash for Children with Special Needs.
With warmest regards, Kristy Kazian Co-President The Lexi Kazian Foundation-Helping From Heaven www.helpingfromheaven.org
Fun for Carson (and mom) at Lexi’s Birthday Bash:
Just wanted to thank you again for such a wonderful party. We had a great time. It is always so nice to be with other people that understand Carson's personality and are tolerant and accepting of him. There are so few occasions when I can just let him go and not have to be on top of him to make sure his behavior is acceptable. I was so touched by the balloon launch to Lexi in heaven. It was very powerful and touching. I'm sure she caught some balloons today! Fondly, Amy
